t. Lunda’s Hedda

Born in 2019, Hedda is a youthful, social, and charmingly childlike jenny whose sense of humor and mischievous sparkle in her eye never run out. This clever lady is a real Houdini and a master at finding her way under the fence – if a plank is even a little too high, Hedda slips underneath so nimbly that people are left standing next to an intact fence, wondering how on earth she managed it again! Hedda is very attached to her dam Lea and prefers to seek out her safe, familiar company.

On the business side, Hedda is the perfect adventure companion for treks and lead-rein riding. Pulling a cart or a sleigh, however, is not this lady’s thing at all, so everything is always done on the animal’s terms – Hedda is happiest in the company of people, spending time outdoors and going on excursions. On trekking days, Hedda’s pace reflects her cheerful nature: sometimes she marches forward super briskly at the front, and at other times she prefers to take it easy and amble peacefully at the back of the group.

Hedda’s absolute favorite things are blissfully rolling in the sand and, of course, every possible treat!

t. Lady Lea

Born in 2014, Lady Lea is a mare who moved from Ireland to Finland. The stable crew often describes her expression as gently wistful – a bit like an old soul with donkey ears. Although not much is known about Lea’s past and she was very timid and afraid of people when she first arrived, she has blossomed into the undisputed heart of the stable and the whole gang’s gentle cuddle bear. These days Lea calls out to familiar people already from the paddock fence and is always among the first to come and investigate whatever is going on at the stable. Lea is the quiet leader of the donkey group: she sometimes lets the younger Hedda boss her around, but when a line is crossed, Lea calmly shows when it is time for the unnecessary fussing to stop.

Lea is incredibly versatile and super motivated, and absolutely loves to work. Her number one favourite is pulling carts and sleighs, but she is also often seen in lead-rein riding, at birthday parties and at various events – going on a trip is always a good idea in Lea’s opinion! On outings, Lea is usually very brisk and eager, and needs a determined handler by her side – especially on the way home, as this lady can otherwise get in quite a hurry to return to the stable. Lea is a lively and sensitive friend who expresses very clearly with her face what she thinks about everything. When the work is done, Lea’s favourite things are food, fresh green hay, and racing around the arena at full speed, ears pricked and sand flying.
